In Rathmullen, Co. Donegal, we stayed in Portnamurry Cottage, just
a few yards north of the site of the famous Flight of the Earls in 1607.
Just the narrow road separated us from the waters of Lough Swilly
and when we went down to the water, we found these rocks,
constantly soaked and dried and soaked again by the rains and the
tides. I decided that, in her spare time, Mother Nature must be an
abstract painter.
